
You may spend most of your waking or sleeping hours inside the walls of your home. As a result, many of the potential emergencies and disasters that you face, may occur within your own home. You could inadvertently experience your own local disaster, if your home is not adequately protected against hazardous conditions.
An example of a home hazard is overloading the electrical capacity of an extension cord, or tripping over it when it is left out in a traffic area. These home hazards could result in a serious home fire, or the electrocution of a loved one.
