The Lord has said, “If ye are prepared, ye shall not fear” (D&C 38:30). And, since He created all things spiritually before they were naturally created on the earth, we should also place top priority on preparing ourselves spiritually for disasters and emergencies. Otherwise, we may not have the spiritual promptings we need when preparing for a crisis, or have the comforting feelings of God’s presence or the confidence of His divine support when we find ourselves in the middle of an actual disaster.
The following links provide additional information about how to prepare yourself and your family spiritually, so that you can be properly focused on temporal preparations and be ready for physical disasters and other emergencies.

Temple Education: In his October 2023 General Conference Address, “Think Celestial!”, President Nelson observed, “Spending more time in the temple builds faith. And your service and worship in the temple will help you to think celestial. The temple is a place of revelation. There you are shown how to progress toward a celestial life. There you are drawn closer to the Savior and given greater access to His power. There you are guided in solving the problems in your life, even your most perplexing problems.” Some of life’s most perplexing problems occur during a disaster.
